Tell RyPod: Giving Up?

Hey Quahoggers,

RyPod here, yet again with another Tell RyPod…but with a difference.

Most of my posts are usually full of jokes and banter but this is a serious one for once…

So…I’ve officially not played this game or launched the app in EIGHT DAYS!! Why? It’s not because it’s crashed or won’t load, it’s because part of me has given up with it and as comment moderator, I view all your comments (even though I’ve commented less lately, I’m still here) and it seems that you guys feel the same.

I never even started week 4 content and it sounds like I did the right thing as you’ve all been struggling with Mecha Astley and all the malarkey that goes with it.

So this Tell RyPod is this…have you given up, as I have? If not, what’s keeping you playing? And if so, what was the straw that broke the camels back?

  1. ooh! I found this post today… I’ve been a little disconnected from the game, which makes a lot of sense… I stopped playing as much as I used to during the last week of the Peterpalooza event. I’m sick of pretentious playing techniques and obscene demands of stuff… The hiring technique, the amount of glow sticks for stuff (and low payouts) and the poor planning made me quit.
I hate how events are planned now, throwing so much stuff at the same time, with only 4 characters doing everything, and that most of the time it is more a gambling game than a strategy one (extra rare items in timed events is ridiculous)
I got tired of trying, there is never logic between time, drop rates and amounts of stuff required. 10K Event Currency for characters, or 350 clams for lame skins is definetly overated.
I got disappointed that events became more premium oriented than fun, So.. it’s about everyting going wrong with this game.

  2. I gave up quite awhile ago. IIRC it was at the state of the mafia event.

The game is just terrible. It’s pretty much a giant F-you to you, unless you buy super expensive stuff constantly. You buy expensive characters and then they are useless. I check in on this site every once in a while to see if the game has gotten any better…doesn’t seem like it has. seems like they’re still pulling the same crap.

    Screw this game.

  3. I ‘sort of’ enjoyed the rocking event, Got Alice Cooper, but missed out on quite a lot of stuff, like Greased Up Deaf Guy. But…. the thing I DID get that I was really, really, REALLY shocked about was 2nd prize in the tournament, that gave me spaced out Stewie costume. I think I had 38 MTV’s in the end.Which is incredibly few, considering you needed around 30-40 thousand in the mobster event.
So getting the Stewie costume made up (mostly) for those i missed. Think this Septemberfest thing so far has been pretty easy, the buildings are well cheap, just need the land to put them on, Give us more land TinyCo, I have $3.5m coins to play with!!!

  4. The event went really well in my opinion. I am a freemium player and I managed to obtain all the characters and costume that was offered including the grease guy and Ricardo. The only thing I wasn’t able to obtain was the grease fountain…didn’t have enough tickets…but so what? I was also placed 2nd in the final challenge as well. Didn’t have to wake up at 3-4am in the morning too.

    How did I achieve that?

The trick is not to give up. You guys give up too easily. TinyCo usually sets the bar high at the start of the event . However as the event progresses, it usually gets easier. items were dropping like flies. Rare items and extra rare items as well.

It’s just like Life. Never never give up on anything.

  5. I did not give up. Sort of.
Every week I play for one/two days with hacked game.
There were events were I had alarm clock every 2 hours. But come on, it is ridiculous in longer run…
Ps Long time no event with rockets…

  6. Too many events and the repetitive nature of each event from the last just takes most of the fun out of the game. Am guessing events for Halloween and Christmas since they seem to be “holidays” that excite people and can be geared for events. Hope the rest of the time can be reserved for “easy” weekend mini-events but more hopefully a return to districts and the storyline. I get that there are only so many ways to present things, but perhaps an improved return to some of the challenges from 2014 in a redux would be better than the exact same thing from the previous event just adapted for that event theme. I am really considering sitting out the next event which would mean I would miss something for the first time since the game launched. None of these events draw me in for the event content — I play the game for Family Guy and that only. There is a lot of time spent and while yes I am collecting “stuff”, none of the “stuff” has any value once the event ends. I spend the next couple months sending on 24-hour tasks to level up characters to put them in inventory. TinyCo needs to slow its roll and figure out what kind of game it wants this to be.

  7. To me, this event was an improvement and much less atrocious compared to the unforgiving Mob event. As a freemium player, what I’ve lost in these events:

Mob event = Bonnie’s mob wife outfit, Tricia’s school outfit, Stewie’s golden suit outfit, Detective Scrotes, and The Godfather.

    PeterPalooza event = Ricardo

I think it’s safe to say that Tinyco has went a little easier on us this time around.

  8. I haven’t given up on family guy yet although I have to agree with a lot of players about the amount of money it takes to purchase premium characters and finish these God awful 24hr quests. It’s annoying and I hope they fix it. Not everyone has time to sit here all day and night just accomplish a 24hr task. 😦 I work.

  9. I finished after the Star Trek event. That event had lots of original content and new mini games (except for Borg Bertram which was boring and repetitive). But I had had enough. I had played all the normal game content and the events aren’t enough of a draw – after you’ve done a few they’re not that fun anymore. I think that the balance of normal (district) content to event content is off. Too many event leave you feeling like that’s all there is to the game.

  10. This event is just too confusing…I can see why people are giving up on the game.

Just to earn 1 item for Greased Up Deaf Guy you have to do too many things.
To get a Tub of Grease, you have to smash a gold or silver robot,
To smash a robot you need a mechanic (or 3)
To train a mechanic you have to get a wrench
To get a wrench you have to send someone on a 6 hour task.
And you need to do this 70 times!!!
    That’s the easy one.

    It gets worse…
To get Candy for GUDG you have to do a Rap Show on the Spooner Stage.
To do the Rap Show you need microphones and have unlocked one of several characters.
To get enough microphones you need to defeat Mecha Astley several times (which takes more than a day).
To defeat Mecha Astley several times you need to unlock Rick Astley and Peter.
To unlock Rick Astley you need to get the Runaround Track.
To get the Runaround Track you need to get Tickets.
To get tickets you need to defeat bears.
To defeat bears you need to train two rangers.
To train rangers you need to get picnic baskets.
To get picnic baskets you need to send someone on a 4 hour task.
And this is all for an “Uncommon” chance to get 4 candy of the 12 needed for GUDG. I did all this and didn’t get a candy to drop.

  11. Here’s a primary reason to not support bad behavior. I’m posting this info on all other FGQFS sites I can find. This particularly is dealing with the Final “True Fan” Challenge. So here we go:
    ______________________________________________________
Ok, I’m fuming. TinyCo has pulled the bait and switch. I know this kind of post may belong in the complaints area; however, I emplore you to let this post stand here. I’ve remained somewhat silent and passive but cannot bite my tongue any longer. Here’s the tasks:

Complete the following in 24 hours:
    1) Defeat Mecha Astley 4 times
    2) Have Greased Up Deaf Guy Touch All of the Candy (Requires Mort and Greased Up Deaf Guy)
    3) Do the PeterPalooza Encore Again
    4) Do 2 Dance Sideshows

    Here’s my problem:

This is blatant money grab / pay-to-win tactic and NOT a challenge!

    Facts:
    1) 4 hr cool down timer that cannot be sped up times 3 times in between attacks = 12 hrs.
    2) Action required to hit Mecha Astley = 4 hrs for a single attack
    3) Even if the conditions were perfect and you started the quest with the mecha @ level 1, you’d still have to pay clams to speed up the final attack.

    _______________________________________________________
    Breakdown for Perfect Conditions:
    Timer: >0:00
    1) Attack Mecha Astley at Level 1 (2 hearts) – 4 hrs – Requires any 1 character. Before clearing the checkmark, trigger the event allowing the first hit to count at the beginning of the 24 hr period

    Timer: 4:00
    2) 2nd Attack on Mecha Astely at Level 2 (3 hearts) – 4 hrs – Requires any 2 characters or Wierd Al by himself (if purchased) – Followed by subsequent cooldown timer – 4 hrs

    Timer: 12:00
    3) 3rd Attack on Mecha Astley at Level 3 (10 hearts) – 8 hrs – Requires at least two hits regardless of the combination of characters (Peter – 2, Rick – 2, Tricia – 2, Wierd Al – 3) as all combined = 9 health – Followed by subsequent cooldown timer – 4 hrs

    Timer: 24:00
    4) Final Attack on Mecha Astley at Level 4 (16 hearts) – 8 hrs – Requires at least two hits regardless of the combination of characters (Peter – 2, Rick – 2, Tricia – 2, Wierd Al – 3) as all combined = 9 health

    Final Timer: 32:00
    _______________________________________________________

As you can see, this is a pay-to-win scenario and no longer a challenge. So TinyCo’s definition of “True Fan” is one who pays to win? This is beyond upsetting to me as I successfully completed the first 2 without use of clams only to be faced with this scenario. On top of that, as some like myself, may have also triggered it when it popped with Mecha Astely at Level 5 (20 hearts), it is impossible to complete. Now with only 2 days remaining, the likelihood of completion even with clams is difficult. If you haven’t triggered it, you’d have to let Mecha Astley’s timer run out completely and go through the 4 hr cooldown timer in order to set the conditions. For some this could be as much as 28 hours with only 48 hours remaining in the event. I’ve sent this info out to support requesting that they change it; however, I don’t expect they will and will probably receive a pre-canned response after the event is over. Sigh. Just wanted everyone to know. Good luck.

    1. Mine looks different. It says “Have Rick ATTACK Mecha Astley 4 Times” (not Defeat). Attacking him 4x is definitely doable, even with 1 or 2 cooldowns.

Although I will have to shell out clams at least for GUDG if I want to go for this challenge…right now it’d cost me 134 clams, and I have 162 saved, so I’m considering it.

What’s holding me back are two things: 1) I don’t know if I’m going to get the 30 microphones I need for the two dance sideshows in time, and 2) the GUDG activity, from what I read on the other FG:TQFS site says his activity takes 12 hours, but I don’t know if he needs to be a specific level to do it. If he has to be level 2 or 3 to do “Touch all the Candy,” I’m screwed.

I’m with you on the bait and switch sentiment, though. No matter what, I’m going to have to spend some clams to do this, and since I got the first two easily, I kind of want to just to complete it…but I’m annoyed at the pretty blatant money grab.

      Like

      1. Edit: There’s no way I’ll get the microphones I need to do the two sideshows. Still might spend clams at the end to get GUDG if I haven’t gotten all the stupid greasy underpants, but…blah.

I haven’t gotten to the point of quitting yet, but I have gotten to the point where I refuse to spend another dime on the game. I never spent more than $10-$20 at a time, and usually only once an event (if that), but I refuse to again.

I get most of the stuff in the events (certainly not all, they’ve made it impossible to do so without spending money), and I guess that’s what keeps me going–that, and at the moment I just plain have the time to do it. My husband, on the other hand, barely completes any of the quests anymore. It’s absolutely impossible for the casual player to enjoy this game anymore, pure and simple. It used to be possible; my husband used to be able to get everything, even though he works all day. He might have gotten things a bit slower than me, but he got it. Now he can’t.

TinyCo, in sum, has made the timed events impossible for casual players to complete. Player beware.

    2. If you do it right.. you can beat Mecha Astley in 12 hours.. 3 characters at 2 pts damanage.. One character at 3 pts.. is 9 pts twice.. one character at 2 pts after that..

    3. I know that frustration EvilNed. Although I’ve been out since the Mobsters event, I had a similar complaint during the Star Trek event (https://familyguytips.com/2015/04/24/star-trek-faqs-week-6/comment-page-1/#comment-35270), and it seems the boss battles are only getting worse with each event. Yeti could be defeated in 16 hrs max, Borg Bertram was 20 hrs max, but both of those times depend on if you had purchased 1-3 premium characters. And now it seems that they’ve ramped up the difficulty again. Making a game harder and more complicated over time is not a good plan, especially for a friggen mobile game. Oooh, I can feel my anger…..it gives me focus, makes me stronger. But also why I stopped playing the game.
I complained to TC as well, but just get the usual run around or they throw some clams at me to shut me up. It’s very hard to remember this after you’ve invested so much time and actual money into this game but try to remember it is only a game and there’s no reason to keep playing if it doesn’t bring you pleasure anymore.

  12. I will tell you.. I had 1500 clams, and decided to go with this event and see what happens..Now, I only purchase characters or buildings.. never rush events.. I really think that is cheating.. Hate to say this.. but in the leaderboard ranking.. I am at # 1.. I have 73 of those little red tv’s.. (Was wondering if that was from Weird Al’s movie “UHF”?) Have been since the second day.. I finally unlocked greased up deaf guy last night.. On the first leaderboard event that we did.. I came in 3rd..

  14. Glad I’m not the only one over this event. I checked in today after over a week, just to see what was going on. I haven’t finished unlocking Alice Cooper yet, and probably won’t get to the characters I really do want. Their events just keep getting more complex… you have to do this before you can do that before you can earn this to have a chance at that. With toads, hippies, bears, robots… so random! And I got tired of having to buy all the pointless deco junk they made just because they wrapped it up in the quest lines and don’t let you move forward without it. I even have over 300 earned clams sitting in my game, but I can’t think of anything worth spending them on and ran out of land ages ago. (On the other hand, I’ve gone premium in TSTO because it’s actually fun to play.) I feel like I’ve invested so much time and energy, it’s hard to walk away.. just keep hoping they turn things around soon.

      1. THAT is, quite possibly, my biggest problem is the characters exclusive to random clam draws. If they want to offer them on a leaderboard and then, that is one thing, but to have their availability be exclusively based on chance really pisses me off. I won’t even try for them.

      2. Ahh, sorry, RyPod! 😦 I wanted Tomik, also (him and the deaf guy) but there’s too much junk in there not worth the amount of clams. Hoping he’ll be brought back in the future (if we’re still playing) for a better deal.

  15. I keep playing because I like the challenge of trying to get it without paying for it! Granted I am realistic in that it is going to be hard and almost impossible to do it freemium and paying for things feels like cheating. I almost finished Star Wars without paying for anything but it’s gotten much harder since then. The blockers on this current event suck for sure!

My BIGGEST issue is that I have $500,000 in game money and nothing to spend it on. Our characters and buildings are earning money all the time and the events never give us an option to use that cash it’s always some made up things you have to start over with like the neon rubber bands now. We should at least be able to by the specific form of money with the “cash” our buildings and people are earning. Otherwise it’s pointless!

    1. I have $6.5 million in cash and nothing to spend it on. That is my biggest complaint about this game. They should at least let us exchange cash for clams or event currency. Even if it was at a high rate of exchange, such as $500,000 for 10 clams or event currency.

  17. I stopped playing after the debacle of the Mobster event, this game used to be fun, but with the unrealistic expectations of the Star Trek event, then the hellacious Mobster event, I can’t take it anymore. I am very tempted to just uninstall and play something else. I have moved on to just playing Doctor Who and Tiny Tower Vegas mostly, cause of time and no unrealistic expectations like Family Guy has gotten, not to mention the lack of them caring about their android players it seems.

  18. I gave up after the Mobster event. The Star Trek event and the Mobster event was too much. I have spreadsheets showing how they ran the events with impossible odds. I even sent them a complaint that the game was just becoming too much of a chore that could not be completed anymore. They thanked me and said that they would work on it. However, it sounds like they are back to their old games. Sadness… I played the game for over a year. I loved the content and the jokes. I just couldn’t take the impossible game play anymore. 😦

    1. I’d be interested in seeing your spreadsheets. It’s possible they are working on it, but it takes time to redo, test, and implement models like that. And these events have probably been planned for months. Hopefully they’ll have some changes in place before a Halloween event, though. They have to know how popular those are. Or maybe they’d be better off without events for a while…

  19. Haven’t given up and have been enjoying the game. Took me awhile to get over my completionist tendencies and now I focus on the stuff that I do want. I do however agree that there has been too much focus on events since Christmas.

Ideally I’d like to see maybe a weekly event once/month designed in such a way that premium players could finish it in 3 or 4 days and maybe 75% freemium players finish it by day seven. It would benefit TinyCo as they would still have a revenue stream and not as great a need for constant coding for events.

Similarly, I would like to see a new district available every two/three months to keep players engaged. With the assumption that any new content takes up a maximum of 50% of new land as I have probably 90% of my characters & buildings in storage.

This game instead has way too much premium, i won’t get greased up deaf guy this event. Maybe not even ricardo. Quite frankly i questiom the point of this game, TO is a town builder. However this one gives us no land, way too much event, no chance of making your town look nice, too many pointless characters, too much premium, and unachievable goals.so clearky not a town builder, just a waste of time.

  21. You pretty much all know I gave up during the mobsters event. My game wouldn’t load no matter what I did. I have spent far to much money on this game and that fact makes me a little (well, a lot) angry with the support offered to customers. Google Play were also pretty unhelpful too. It is a terrible shame as this game had so much promise. Tapped Out is a brilliant game on the other hand and affordable too. I don’t feel like I need to take out a bank loan and buy a spare ipad to play which is a plus 😉

    1. Agreed holly. I enjoy these types of games, but am not the biggest family guy fan, so I’ve played this game just for the fun of it and as a time killer. I LOVE THE SIMPSONS (or at least the first 15 seasons), so all of their content appeals to me. The only thing that’s kept me playing this game is the celebrity and movie characters. I pretty much only want the characters and TQFS used to do a good job giving enough free clams to buy most of the characters I wanted. However, this event has only given away crappy characters for event currency during this event IMO. Wud like snoop and Al from this event, but instead was “forced” to get Tomlik and some random fan in order to progress, hoping it would lead to a character I actually wanted..instead it lead to Rick freaking Astley. The last few TSTO events have been awesome with amazing and desirable content. Plus TSTO has events that are easy to understand and progress through. I doubt I’ll completely quit TQFS, but I definitely don’t care about the content anymore, and haven’t been grinding for content like I used to…not to mention I haven’t considered spending $ on this game (spent $20 on the game in the first 6 months or so).

  22. This is not meant to be personal against this site but I stopped playing when this site stopped posting the walkthroughs and hints. Bottom line is it was almost impossible to navigate events without the road maps this site used to provide. I have experienced many of the same crashing and lockout problems as the moderators here so I feel their pain. There used to be so much interaction with this site and it was fun and made the game playable. When the walkthroughs became less frequent — and I completely understand why! — I started to realize that the game could not even be played without this road map and why did I want to play a game that couldn’t even be delivered in a way that I could figure it out without the help of a third party?? I do check the site once a month to see if anything with the game has changed, but the comments I see tells me it is only getting worse, not better. Thanks to all the moderators here for what they did for me when I was an active player. But if TinyCo can’t keep happy the people who are devoting the time and money to run a site to support THEIR game, what chance do they have to keep lil ol’ me happy?

  23. The balance in the game between freemium and premium just got way out of whack, which I assume had more to do with poor planning by TinyCo more than anything else. The Star Trek event started the downslide for me and the tuba drop debacle finished it for me. Between TinyCo’s admitted failure with the drops and its reluctance to make it right even though it knew it messed up just made me lose all trust in the company. I wanted to finish the event but was locked out of my game for a couple of days in a row so that solved that. I decided I was done with events — they have become money-grabs and aren’t as much fun any more — so I check this site to see when another district has dropped and play those. Event characters are worthless the second the event ends so I don’t feel as though I am missing anything. It really is too bad because I LOVED the game the first year — even with the King Butt and other problems. There are no time constraints on districts so I can check in twice a day if I want and play it that way. I enjoy Family Guy more than the game so I am just happy to see the characters that relate to the show and what they are doing. Unless they get crazy with the cost of the land blocks, I figure I can sustain enough coins with two daily check-ins to play districts as long as they keep delivering them. The events? No chance. Really is a shame but this is all on TinyCo. Unstable game (I am not buying a new device just to play a game!). Poorly planned tasks and challenges. More a money-grab than fun. The end for me.

  24. Totally agree. I’ve given up. Too much pressure from a game, unreasonable time scales. Gone back to Tapped Out.

Also, it takes up far too much storage.

  25. For
me, I still enjoy the game, but it really depends on how you play the game and what you enjoy about it. I never cared about getting everything that was offered, and it did not take me long to figure out buying characters was a waste of money, as they are never used again past the event. Same goes for skins, unless you get a kick out of the visual tasks that come with them.

What I enjoy most about the game is trying to figure out how to best maximize the time I do play, and nuking and redecorating my town.

  26. I stopped playing around mid-Mobsters event because the game was so laggy and it took ages to actually finish a morning session due to it crashing incessantly. I re-joined after it ended, and things seemed better until week 2 of PeterPalooza where I just couldn’t be bothered to open the game anymore. I may re-join after the event, see what’s coming up, but I feel like I’m not going to be having the game clog up 700GB on my device no longer.

I have no idea who Belgard and Tomik are (or whatever their names are), Snoop Dogg and Deadmau5 are only unlocked via premium. I will never be able to unlock Rick Astley, the qualifications are just too high. The leaderboards are a joke. I am just happy I was able to get Alice Cooper, and it sort of reinvigorated my fandom; as I have been listening to a lot of his old albums recently. I’m just ready for this event to end. Depending on what’s up next I might be done forever.

Other than that I love everything off of Billion Dollar Babies, Welcome To My Nightmare, and Killer. My favorite song of all has got to be something obscure like “Some Folks” or probably something well known like “Under My Wheels”

  28. No interested in the premium characters at all.

I’ve played since Halloween 2014 and this has been the WORST event!

Usually we all finish an event will tens of thousands of event currency to spend on the final few days mystery box. I’M STRUGGLING to get enough for the items I need to buy!!

Core items like tickets and records and incredibly s-l-o-w to get as it take 4 hours to get a picnic basket THEN another hour to make ONE ranger!

Once again POOR use of characters making the same person’s activity drop items for multiple people, many of which dropped NOTHING!

More characters should be used from the plethora either in game OR in storage.

Who wants to bet that this year’s Halloween WONT feature the awesome Ghostbusters skins we got last year?

TinyCo have lost the plot and just don’t care!

IMO really hate the game for those who are freemium… Ya just stand no chance on getting anything these days with the way they have the events developed. I still pay cause I want the characters and I figure it’s safer to have this game ‘addiction’ rather than smoking or something else that would cost me money. I learned the quest lines really don’t ‘do’ anything so I ignore them completely unless required for weekly progression. That helps focus on the stuff needed for each weeks characters unlocks and mecha dude. Btw if you guys need any help with walkthrus or stuff let me know. I play on both ipad and iPhone and (knock on wood) haven’t had many issues. If one has a problem it usually works on the other device till the first one gets sorted out. 30. I lost interest after they lost interest during the mob event. I spent almost $50 during the event, then my game just stopped working fir almost 2 weeks. All the devs could tell me to do was try and play on an apple device (I’m android always) i thought this was a stupid response and their lack of concern to a premium player and the freemium players out there was disgusting.

  31. I’m still completely out. Uninstalled back in June early on in the Mobster event. Got a new phone since then and didnt reinstall. Still get emails for new posts and my GF still plays. But I’m glad I dont have to worry about it anymore, was just causing too much stress for something so unimportant and buggy. Seems like there a mass exodus during every event and I honestly don’t know how the game still has a good rating or why new players are joining. Anyways, to all the players who are pulling their hair out, just let it go, it’s really not important, and you’ll feel so much better a couple days after you quit. You suddenly realize how much of your time you were devoting to the game and how completely unnecessary it was. Even if you just take a week off, you’ll feel better.

  32. I did the same as you but in the mobster event. There was no break in the content and I was tired of having to check every possible waking moment. I just wanted a non event update or even just a little time with nothing new so I could go at a relaxed pace and get around to the much needed redesign my town needs. (Seriously with no down time there are buildings just shoved in wherever they happen to fit. )

This event is just stupidly expensive it took me all week plus a day to get just enough glow sticks to pay for Rick Astley. I have no where near the tickets and even further from the number of records I need for other items and I still need another 10k glow sticks if I want to unlock Ricardo.

The leaderboards are also a major thing that peeve me off and if I hadn’t already invested so much time in this game I would already be gone because of them. It was the straw in the monster event that made me take a sabbatical from the game.

I feel like at this point TinyCo is trying to alienate its player base in order to change the way the game works and that makes me sad because I did enjoy some of the earlier events. They keep adding on more stuff, and costs to them but aren’t adding any new ways to make up the difference.

  33. I haven’t “given up” but have come to the resolution that I will not get all the characters and/or buildings during these events. I came to this epiphany during the Mobster event, with the impossible tubas and leader board prizes that I would never win. The tubas in the Mobster event put me a week behind and I never caught up. Now this event has had the same item lag with the Leopard Boots, again I am a week behind in the game. The leader board prizes are also here again, and I know I will not win anything but coins. I have lost some interest in the event as I know that I wont be able to play the last week quests at all because I will not get to that unlock point before the event is over. I am disappointed that I probably won’t get the Greased Up Deaf Guy, but it just appears to be impossible for freemium players, and Ricardo at 10,000 glowsticks is a joke.

What I AM doing is playing it for my own enjoyment and unlocking what I can with the understanding that if you play for free you won’t win everything. I take the position that I am playing a game that involves media characters that I enjoy without paying a dime for it. The company programming the game can spend all the money on resources they like to modify the game to their best interest of making money, but they will not get any more from me…

I used to pay a little bit in each event, spent about $10 in each one, but as they have evolved the game to make the events impossible to complete I have stopped giving them any of my money.

I guess I am no longer a Freemium player and am now a Freebie-um player.

My advice, don’t give up on the game if you are a Family Guy fan, just re-evaluate your playing style and enjoy what you can. Taking a break for a week or two might be just the thing to get you reinvigorated to continue playing, or it will help you realize that you can do without the game entirely.

Just don’t give up on us RyPod, we love reading your posts.

  34. What malarkey? I am in Phase 6 and still enjoying it. Obviously you guys don’t want to play the game any more or else there would be walk-thrus up for the other phases no ifs ands or buts about it. Sorry but the Addicts site still keeps posting stuff no matter what.

    1. On the contrary MovieBuff, Holly and Zooey do the walkthroughs but they got screwed over by their games not loading so there’s delays, the “other site” isn’t better or worse than this one, but the comment moderator on here is one amazing guy 😉

  35. I don’t know about quite giving up, and I am also a solid week behind and have accepted that the week 6 items are not going to be in the cards for me.

I would think that Tiny Co can track the progress of the players and see most of them can’t keep up. I’m secretly hoping they’ll extend the event a week to let us catch up with some of this stuff.

    1. It’s a 50-50 guess to be honest regarding if they extend the event or not, some events they do, some they don’t, it all depends on what they have planned for the next mini event after it
