Results from the Survey & Poll: Free Clams for watching videos!

I have been busy collating and calculating all the results from the surveys and polls from the weekend to show you how many players have been able to watch videos earn Clams and the most common devices that this was/wasn’t possible:

We had 355 responses on our first survey:

284 out of 355 players weren’t able to watch videos (80%)

71 out of 355 players were able to watch videos (20%)

188 out of 355 players were trying to access videos using an Android device (52%)

164 out of 355 players were trying to access videos using an iOS device (45%)

10 out of 355 players were using a different device to access videos (3%)

2 out of 355 players were trying to access videos using a Windows device (1%)

280 out of 355 players weren’t able to earn free Clams (79%)

75 out of 355 players were able to earn free Clams (20%)

These are the Other responses, which all say that they couldn’t watch videos, so couldn’t earn free Clams and were added to the ‘NO’ total:

– Out of the 75 players that could watch videos, 64 of these players were using an iOS device, 3 players were using a Kindle device, 3 players were using an Android device and 1 player was using a Windows device.

– Out of the 75 players that could watch videos, 33 were located in the US, 18 in the UK, 6 in Australia, 4 in Germany, 4 in Canada, 1 in Brazil, 1 in Colombia and 1 in the Netherlands.

– Out of the 33 US players that could watch videos, 28 were using an iOS device, 3 were using a Kindle device, and 1 was using an Android device.

– Out of the 18 UK players that could watch videos, 17 were using an iOS device, and 1 was using an Android device.

It seems that a lot more US players were able to access the videos as long as they were using an iOS device. It seems from all the first survey responses, a high percentage of players could only watch videos using an iOS device, and mainly resided in the US.

From the Poll results, we were trying to see whether buying the pets and owning Patches the T-Rex helped players to access videos.

The poll yielded these results:

image

91.36% of players did not purchase all the pets and own Patches
8.64% of players had purchased the pets and did own Patches

The Other section consisted of comments saying the had only bought 1 of an animal or none, so the Other total was added to the ‘NO’ section.

These results show that buying the pets and owning Patches was unrelated to whether players could watch videos or not.

Our second survey was to find out which devices players were using. We received 411 responses.

The devices most commonly able to watch videos were:

iPhone 5S (14 players)
iPhone 6 (12 players)
iPad Air (6 players)
iPhone 4 (6 players)
iPhone 4S (6 players)
iPad (6 players)
iPhone 5C (5 players)
Kindle Fire (4 players)
iPod Touch 5th Gen (3 players)
iPhone 4S (2 players)

Devices most commonly unable to watch videos:

Samsung Galaxy S5 (23 players)
Samsung Galaxy S4 (22 players)
iPhone 6 (14 players)
Nexus 7 (13 players)
Samsung Galaxy S3 (12 players)
iPhone 5 (8 players)
iPhone 6+ (7 players)
iPhone 4 (5 players)

– From the devices survey, the results show that the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6 users were more commonly able to watch videos, but the iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6+ and iPhone 4 users were more commonly reported that videos were not appearing.

– From the results of the device survey, the most common devices which did not play videos were the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy S3, along with the Nexus 7, iPhone 6, iPhone 5, iPhone 6+ and iPhone 4.

– Out of the most common devices that players were using that were able to watch videos, they were all iOS devices, apart from 4 players that were using a Kindle Fire.

The conclusions made from all of these results show the players who were able to earn free Clams this weekend were mainly iOS users, showing a possible bug with Android devices.
