GHOSTBUSTER CHALLENGE: Those Pesky Kids

Week 3’s challenge will win you Zuul’s Portal and keep you on track for Ecto-1.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE CLAMS TO SPEND, SLUTTY CAT MEG OR PINK BRIAN HOLD OFF BY NOT COMPLETING ROLL OUT PART 2. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO COLLECT BOMBS FIRST.

Check out Zuul’s Portal. (Easy peasy).

Clear 200 Trick or Treaters in 3 days.
Bummer. I hate these ones! I get horribly panicked! The higher your Fright Level the higher the amount of Trick or Treaters you will have in your town. Therefore the easier it will be….. I hope.

As Derek has pointed out in the comments below, if you are due to level up head straight over to your portal for some easy to bomb Trick or Treaters!

  1. I was two kids away from complementing this. As time was running out, I turned on my game, and went to use the stink bombs. Main screen said I had two bombs left, but when I went into the targeting screen, it said I was out of bombs. Before I could buy the one bomb I needed, time ran out. And the worse part is, it continues to give me the same error. The main screen doesn’t update after I’ve used some of the stink bombs, so it almost always says I have more in inventory than I actually do. Frustrating to loose out on Zuul’s portal and ECTO-1 because two in-game screens don’t talk to each other very well.

  2. I finished the pesky kids challenge and it shows a checkmark that I completed it, however there is no ZULL portal in my inventory anywhere?

  4. Can someone post a full guide with screenshots please? I’m a freemium player and I don’t wanna lose this challenge! It looks so impossible…

  5. Hey if anyone could post an image of the set up they’ve used to trap or line up the kids much like mutant stewie that’d be so handy I’ve tried but they always find a damn way out!

  6. I bomb them right whe they come out of the portal and get them all with one bomb. Works good, got up 18 on one toss. And this way you don’t have to reconstruct your town.

  7. Yea, i think they’re gonna have to pop an update in here, that allows you to freeze them, or something. I’ve killed 4 of them, and have 0 bombs and am waiting 8 hrs to maybe get a few more of them. I’m not unlocking this questline til i have like 50 bombs. And i refuse to buy 24 bombs for 250 clams. That’s ridiculous.

  8. The Trick or Treaters come out of the event area (just like the dogs, bansees, etc). I set up a bunch of switch backs once they get to your land and they seemed to follow it so far. If you haven’t triggered the challenge yet (I think you trigger once you hit the first 5), I’d stock up on the bombs first (so that when you knock them out and they respawn on the half hour, you’ll be able to take out the same bunch over and over again using the maze technique).

  9. I agree, I don’t see how this is doable in 3 days without spending some clams. The frequency of stink bombs isn’t enough, and as mentioned, you can’t tap and trap the kids like you could the mutant Stewies. Unless the grey ghosts pop up and drop bombs like the nerds did for rockets, this is gonna be a bad one.

      1. Any kids you cleared before you activated the challenge don’t count toward it. And yes, if I was aware of the challenge before activating it, I could have stocked up on bombs, but it’s still pretty rough when you can only get them every 4 and 8 hours.

Also, no bombs came out of the ghosts, so I don’t know how this one is doable. Much less the eventual week 5 challenge when we’ll have to clear more of them along with latchers and whatever else.

    1. B, you said it best!
This is almost impossible for freemium players. 200 ToT’s!!! 8hr for a stink bomb. I’m not happy with this. I really wanted the ghostbusters car!!!

  10. I’ve already learned that you can’t tap on them to stun them like you could with the Stewies. Not tested the maze method yet, but I haven’t seen them spawn yet so I don’t even know if they spawn with the same behaviour.

  11. I got 3 TorTs and now have to wait 8hrs / overnight before I get a chance for any more. This task is going to be a pain with so few chances of even getting stink bombs never mind the accuracy needed to hit the little TorTs.

  12. Hopefully this shouldn’t be too difficult, I’m at Fright Level 10 (MAX), and have won the Happy Go Lucky Toy Factory which always drops Stink Bombs. I’m gonna build up a few Stink Bombs before I start clearing any Trick-or-Treaters.

  13. They made it harder than bombing mutant stewies as you can’t tap on them to make them freeze or change direction. and my phone started lagging so its even harder.

  14. I’ve got loads of items already! Loads came at once, which, luckily, I’ve set my town so that as ghosts and now kids come out, they have to navigate around a few decorations and a house so they always leave in a row – I was able to line them all up and take them all down in one shot! Think I’ve got myself a way to get this week done quickly haha!
